Central Coast, Tasmania – Cycling without Age Central Coast Tasmania is thrilled to introduce Cruisin’ the Coast, cycling done differently, a part of the global movement that brings joy and freedom to those who are less mobile or no longer able to enjoy cycling. Through this unique initiative, passengers are given the chance to experience the beauty of the coast from the comfort of an E-Triobike, guided by a volunteer ‘Pilot’ rider.
Funding to purchase a Triobike was made possible by Central Coast Voice for Health and Health Consumers Tasmania, through funding provided by the Tasmanian Department of Health.
We would like to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks to our volunteer riders who help make this experience possible for our community members. Your time, dedication, and support help enrich lives, enabling our passengers to reconnect with nature and experience the joy of cycling in a whole new way.
We are now calling for more volunteers to join this exciting initiative and become part of this growing community. If you’re interested in becoming a ‘Pilot’ or a ‘Pilot Assist’ and want to be part of this innovative, community-based activity, we welcome you to join Cruisin’ the Coast, cycling done differently. We provide thorough training and support on how to safely operate our E-Triobikes, ensuring you feel confident and equipped to assist our passengers.
The role of Pilot Assist – riding your own bike alongside the E-Triobike and offering support where needed, whether it’s helping passengers during a break or ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the ride. Your involvement will be essential to helping create a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Rides are typically on pre-arranged routes, with a leisurely pace allowing ample opportunity for conversation and for passengers to enjoy the sights and sounds of the beautiful Central Coast. Whether it’s stopping for a cuppa or simply enjoying a quiet moment, every ride is designed to be relaxing and enriching.
If you are passionate about making a difference, love cycling and want to be part of this new initiative, we encourage you to get in touch with us. Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most. For more information please contact us at Central Coast Council – 6429 8900
