2025 marks the 25th year of Relay For Life events happening in Tasmania. Since 2002, Relay For Life has been held annually at the Penguin Athletics Track, moving from the inaugural location of Devonport in 2001. This incredible and much-loved community event allows everyone a safe and supportive space to celebrate cancer survivorship, honour carers of people with cancer, remember loved ones lost to cancer and fight back by raising vital funds for Cancer Council Tasmania. Teams walk in a Relay overnight to show support and honour for those battling cancer and their families though, anyone is welcome to join in for a short time throughout the event.
Almost $14 Million has been raised by Tasmanians through Relay For Life in those 24 years, all of which have stayed in Tasmania to support local people with free services such as transport2treatment, complimentary therapies (art, yoga, tai chi), financial assistance, one-on-one and group support, and the wig library. Almost $4 Million of that total has been raised by the North West Coast alone!
Cancer Council Tasmania and the Volunteer Organising Committee invite everyone to join us in celebration at Penguin Relay For Life 2025 on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rdMarch. Register as a team, individual, survivor or carer online today at www.relayforlife.org.au or join us on the day for a ceremony or a few laps to relive or experience Relay for the first time.
