Welcome Inspector Hanson to TCCV!

Inspector Andrew Hanson has been promoted to the Central West Police Division, after 25 years of policing. Inspector Hanson has mainly worked in and around Launceston and the West Coast and has a strong background across a number of areas, including criminal and drug investigation, frontline (city and country), traffic policing, and internal leadership and development training.

Policing is, and has always been, part of the community and Inspector Hanson believes in strong community ties.

“It is a hard job, and often filled with conflict and any given day can bring things that most of us don’t see in a lifetime. Despite this, all of our people do a fantastic job, and I intend to support them as best I can to continue to help keep our community safe. I am keen for our members to engage with our community as much as possible, and not just when we see people on a bad day”.

Part of Inspector Hanson’s role is to ensure that those policing services are administered appropriately, and in line with organisational values of accountability, respect, integrity and support.

“I started in early January, and I can already see that this is a strong community. I also see that you are well represented by your local police who are energetic, enthusiastic and motivated to do their jobs well.”

Inspector Hanson’s Police Division encompasses Ulverstone and the Central Coast but also extends through to the West Coast, King Island, and Marine Services at Stanley. He’s more than happy for you to say hello if see him out and about in any one of those areas!
